Happy Birthday Uncle Matthew!

March brings a lot of birthdays in our family, so we've talked about them a lot recently. Carson loves to sing the Birthday song. I found him standing on his stool in the kitchen the other night singing Happy Birthday, so...we decided to dedicate it to Uncle Matthew! Hope you have a great day Matthew!

Eggs!

For family home evening Monday, we colored eggs as a family. Well, Carson did most of the coloring, but we had fun watching. He was so excited all afternoon to "color eggs", I thought he was going to burst! I had to keep reminding him that we had to wait until after we ate dinner. As a result, he wanted to eat dinner right then so he color his eggs.

We dyed all the eggs in the house...I didn't want to go buy any more because we are going to be gone all next week and needed to use the ones we had. When we were down to just a couple, Christian decided it would be fun to mix the colors and Carson thought he needed to put one of the eggs into all the colors. He pulled his egg out once, looked at it and replied "brown poop egg." I guess he thought it looked like brown poop. It was hilarious! Our biggest accomplishment...we didn't spill anything...Yee Haw! As soon as we were done, Carson wanted to eat one, but was denied. I can't believe how much this kid LOVES eggs and in any form...pickled, scrambled, deviled, plain with salt, etc.... He asked for one the very next morning as soon as he got up...he's crazy!!

Potato Stampin'

Although the weather is starting to get nice outside it seems like we have a couple of really nice days and then it gets really cold. We, Carson and I, are itching to get outside and play in the sunshine, but until it warms up, I've been trying to think of some fun things we could do inside that we don't do every day. So, we decided to make potato stamps. All we did was take a potato, carve a shape into it (we did a heart for the clover and a rectangle), dab it in some paint, and stamp away. Carson had quite a fun time. We've done a couple of crafts with paints lately (we went and painted pinecones with a friend last week), so now he asks if we can paint. I thought this would be a fun thing to do and it wasn't overly messy...which is always nice! We decided to make a card for each set of grandparents for St. Patrick's Day. I thought they were pretty cute...and I'm sure they will love them!

Bowling Fun!

We had quite a fun weekend. Christian got suckered into going camping with the scouts Friday night, so Saturday night, we decided to go to dinner and then bowling with some friends and their little boy. We got a lane just for the two little boys with bumpers. They had a blast "throwing" the balls down the lane at the pins. They were fun to watch, and surprisingly, they did a good job of taking turns. It was lots of fun and now we know that we can take Carson with us to bowl. Now I just have to get Christian to like bowling and I'll be set.

Has Spring Sprung?

So I fianlly told myself that I need to actually do this whole blogging thing. I love to read other people's, so I told myself I was going to try and post something at least once a week. So we'll see how it goes.

Well, we had a WoDeRfUl weekend! It was 80 degrees here! We decided to pack up a lunch and head to the park for the afternoon. So we ate, played, threw rocks in the ponds, and looked at the ducks and geese that live at the park. We also decided to go to the Humane Society to see the puppies and kitties that were there. Luckily we didn't see anything that we couldn't live without right now!

After Carson's nap, he and Christian decided it was time to build a sandcastle in the sandbox. Chistian got pretty fancy with his castle, but they were both pretty proud of it.
