The move!

We closed on our house September 4, but we didn't officially move in until September 13th. We spent the time between our closing and moving day packing, painting, canning and other various things. We were so glad to actually be in our new house when the time finally came.

Here are some before and after pictures of our painting. The couple that lived here before us had some pretty bold colors on the walls. Being the boring people we are, we painted over everything with a very neutral beige/tan color.
The kitchen before.
Another view of it.

The after.
Travis enjoying a snack while as we were getting ready to paint.

The living room before.
Living room after. I haven't put up any decorations yet, so the walls are pretty bare!

Travis even got to help up paint in the kitchen.

Travis, my mom and my dad helping paint.

It was hard work painting, so of coarse we had to take a break fro some McDonalds!
Landon was kept happy with treats in his stroller so he wouldn't get into the paint...

Until we took our eye off of him the last day and he got covered in paint!

My dad risking his life to paint the trim above the stairs on the vaulted ceiling! It was too scary to watch but he was super dad and got it all done! Thanks dad!!
Christian and my dad trying to paint the rounded corner that came from the living room wall to the kitchen ceiling. It was not an easy as it looked. We still have to do some major touching up in that area.

My mother in law came and taught/helped me can some peaches and pears one night after painting. We are excited to have them to eat this winter.

Landon was a really good sport about the whole moving chaos. Here he is enjoying a corn dog while we worked in the kitchen.

Travis was a great helper move stuff out to the trailer!

My dad carrying out a load of boxes!

One of the highlights of the new house is the large jetted tub! The two older boys couldn't wait to take a bubble bath in it after we moved it!

Since we have moved in, Landon has really enjoyed the view from the patio! My dad put up a great barrier so he wouldn't fall down the stairs! He can still see the kids but isn't able to escape!
Another highlight of our new house for the boys has been all the kids to play with in the neighborhood. We have a great neighborhood with quite a few kids. The boys have had a blast riding their bikes up and down the street to visit their friend's houses and play. Here they are with a couple of boys from down the street under our deck building a little town in the dirt.

Looks like a nice place! Cora got invited to a b-day party in your old house, and they have painted the whole thing all kinds of colors. Travis's old room is bright dark hot pink and Carson's is dark blue. haha
