A weekend full of Thanks!

Wow...this last week has been whirl wind and I can't believe that tomorrow starts the first of December! We had a really enjoyable Thanksgiving this year surrounded by our family! We left Tuesday after Carson got done with school and drove to Douglas, Wyoming to stay the night and enjoyed some swimming for the boys to get their wiggles out. We were able to stop in Cheyenne and do a little Christmas shopping along our way too! Wednesday morning we got up early and headed to the Basin and man was it cold there...like below zero cold! We made a quick stop by Powell to say hi to my family and then made our way to Lovell for the rest of the day. Thursday we spent with both of our families. We started round one of food (lunch) with Christian's family and then ran to Powell for dinner that afternoon. All the food was wonderful and we were stuffed to the MAX! Friday was the annual Asay family preg. testing of the cows (checking to see if the cows are pregnant or not). The boys had been looking forward to riding horses for the last few weeks and were super excited for this day to come so they could get their rides in and help with the cows. After the cows were all done, we made our way back to my parent's house to spend the last two nights of our trip. Saturday my mom, sister and I (with a little help from the little boys)decorated my mom's tree. It really got the boys excited to do ours! The boys managed to talk someone into taking them hottubing both nights we were there and had a blast canonballing. It was a great weekend and were so glad that we got to share it with our family. We are so thankful for the each of them and for all they do for us, for the gospel in our lives and for our knowledge of eternal families. We are excited to go back in a month for Christmas!

Swimming in Douglas. The boys did so good in the car so we celebrated with a little swimming the pool that night!

Christian and I on our first ever Black Friday shopping. We decided to make a trip to Cody with Matthew and Charlene to Wal-Mart at midnight and do a little shopping. We actually got A LOT of our shopping done and had fun. The sale started at 12:01 and we were outside of the store at 12:17...we were pretty proud of ourselves!

Day after Thanksgiving preg. testing fun! The boys were super excited to get to ride horses. They rode most of the way to round up the cows but got a little cold and didn't make it quite all the way!

Fun in the tub!

Pheasants!

The beginning of last week, Christian had the opportunity to go to South Dakota and pheasant hunt for three days. The trip was put on by a chemical/seed company and included a group of crop consultants from the area. It sounded like they had a good time hunting, eating, sleeping, and hunting some more. From the looks of my freezer (it's full of pheasants that still have their feet attached...gross!)...they were quite successful and filled their limits each day!

Grandpa & Grandma Asay come to visit!

Last weekend, we got to have Grandpa and Grandma Asay come and stay at our house. We were so excited to find out that they were going to get to come and visit us for the weekend and spend their 30th wedding anniversary with us! We enjoyed their company so much and the boys loved all the attention. Christian had the opportunity to take his dad around and show him some of the places he works and some of the things he does. We also made a trip down to Kansas..which is only about 15 miles from our house. Carson had his primary program that Sunday and it was fun for them to be there to watch. I know he was super excited for them to hear him say his parts! It was so fun to have you guys here and are excited to see you all again!

Christian has been gone these last few days doing some pheasant hunting in South Dakota. To keep ourselves busy while he was gone we had a campout in the basement. We had pizza, rented a movie and had snacks, then blew up the air mattress and slept downstairs. Today, we decided to head over to the Farm and Ranch Expo for something to do. The boys had a good time seeing all the huge tractors and going around to the booths to get candy. I think their favorite part was the big bull outside that they got to feed corn! We are excited to have him back tonight with us!!

Fishing Season Finale!

This last week we have had some amazingly warm weather...like near 80 degrees warm! Crazy for November, if you ask me...but I'm not complaining! Saturday we decided to take advantage of it being so nice and decided to head to the pond at one of the parks and enjoy some fishing for what will probably be the last time this year. The boys caught like four or five fish a piece with nothing more than some old, stale bread. The fish in this pond lOvE bread because that's what people come and feed the geese and ducks that live in the ponds also. Carson finally figured out how to cast his pole this trip and Travis finally got to use the fishing pole that he got for his birthday! It was a fun trip to the pond and the boys were sad when we had to leave because it was starting to get dark.

Fun with Leaves!

The only good thing about the leaves falling off the trees is that you get to jump in them! Last week before the leaves all blew away, the boys and I raked them up so they could jump in them! They started doing it on their own while I was finishing making some cupcakes for Carson's class and did a pretty good job themselves. They were so excited to get to rake the leaves and jump in them and it was pretty entertaining to watch! Our fun was pretty short lived due to some nasty wind and rain, but it was fun while it lasted! Now all our leaves have blown away and our fun is gone!
