Pizza and Pool Party

Today Carson got to have some of his friends from church come over for a party. When everyone arrived, each of the kids each got to make their own personal pizza. While the pizzas cooked, the kids headed out to the pool. We had put the slide in the pool and the kids had a blast. Carson was so excited to have his friends to play and they had lots of fun! We even had a little pool for the two little guys to play in. Travis was a crazy man and loved being able to get in and out of the pool all by himself! Here are some pictures from the day.

I just had to post some pictures from the other day at the pool. Carson's shark was quite a hit! All the kids loved it and loved being chased by it. We went during Travis' nap time and as a result, he fell asleep. This picture shows just how tired he was. I was able to lay him down on the cement and let him sleep. And of course we had to have a green snow cone before we could leave. Carson starts swimming lessons next week and is really excited. The lady that does story time at the library is also the swim instructor and he really likes her and is looking forward to starting!

This was our project last weekend...and this week. We have two patches of area in front of our house that the previous owners had placed wood chips in. Well, the neighborhood cats deemed these their personal litter boxes...beyond gross! So, we decided it was time to take them all out and put rock in, in hopes that the cats will find somewhere else to relieve themselves and it won't smell anymore. We ran out of bags and rock, so we only got one side done...so the project continues!

Carson's job was to stay in the playpen to keep Travis happy. It only lasted for about 5 minutes then they were done...well, mostly Travis was done!

Longing...

...to play! The boys went out to play last week and Christian came running in the house and told me to grab the camera. I did and this is what I saw. The boys, even the dog, were hanging on the fence talking with the neighbor kids. Too cute!

Well, we really haven't been up to a whole lot lately, which is my excuse for not blogging recently...but somehow, we've actually been quite busy! We have spent quite a few days at the pool trying to keep ourselves cool in the yucky 100 degree weather! Here are just a few pictures of some of the things we have been doing lately! Enjoy!

Last weekend we went to the Nebraskaland Days parade and rodeo up in North Platte. We arrived late to the parade and managed to slip Carson in next to a group of girls so he could see the parade. They were so nice to him and were great at making sure he got to get some candy too! Because we were late, there was NOWHERE for us to sit and watch the parade up close. People are crazy here during parades. They arrive HOURS early and use ropes and stakes to mark their "place" on the street...crazy I tell you! But, we had fun anyways!

Carson wanted to build a fort the other day and it was so much fun to watch them play together in it. Travis is at the stage now where he wants to do everything his older brother is! Carson is so good to let him play...most of the time!

Look at that farmer's tan!! We've spent a good amount of time at the pool this summer already...as you can tell! Last night I was getting Travis ready for his bath when I realized how much of a farmer's tan he has! I think he just really wants to look like his dad who has a GREAT farmer's tan!

Salt Lake

It's been a while since I've posted, but we've been out of town. This last week, the boys and I flew to Salt Lake where we met up with my dad, mom, sister, and brothers. My dad has meetings down there every year and it has kind of turned into a little family reunion during the summer. The boys were great travelers despite our flites being delayed and such. I just have to say that I have never had so many people offer to help me out. I can't count the number of times I had someone come up to me and ask if they could carry something or help out in some way. I was so glad to have the help of some total strangers a couple of times...it made things go so much smoother!

While we were there, we went to the Hogle zoo, swam in the pool, saw a movie, and shopped. It rained quite a bit so we didn't get to do some of the other fun things we had wanted to. It was fun to see family and be together! Here are some fun pictures from our week!

On the last night of my dad's meetings, they always have a fancy dinner and we always take pictures in the courtyard. Here are some pictures!
