Halloween Fun!

Well, it was another fun Halloween. Our branch didn't have a trunk or treat this year, so we just took the boys to see a couple of people from church. For only going to 6 houses, Carson made quite a haul! Tonight was a play-off game for the highschool football team so the majority of our town was at the game, meaning lots of candy for the few kids that came around! The boys looked super cute. Carson was the Hulk and Travis was a cow ...enjoy!

Can you say spoiled?!

Yesterday, Carson got a package from his grandpa and grandma Asay. Today...he got one from grandpa and grandma Foulger...spoiled little boy. Thanks so much, mom and dad, for the fun package. He loved opening it and kept saying wow with each thing he pulled out!

Now, to catch up on our Halloween activities from the past couple of days. We finally got around to carving our pumpkins Tuesday afternoon. We were going to do it for family home evening Monday night, but we ended up not having time for that. Carson pretty much didn't want to have anything to do with the pumpkins this year. We let him draw on the face that he wanted and then Christian carved it for him. His pumpkin drawings = sqaure eyes, a square nose, and a smile with no teeth. The only time we were able to get Carson to touch part of the pumpkin was when he took a seed down to the garden to plant it, and even then it took some convincing! Crazy kid!!

On Wednesday mornings, we go to story time at the Library. The lady that does our story time is the best! She always does such neat things for the kids. This week, the kids were supposed to come dressed in their costumes. They read books, got lots of fun Halloween goodies, and then had a Halloween feast consisting of little hotdogs, nachos, drinks, build your own pastries, cheese, and candy. It was fun for Carson to get to be with some other kids his age.

Tonight, Carson and I made two batches of cupcakes...not because we are over achievers...but because the first batch failed...HORRIBLY! I had gotten a new recipe from a friend that I thought I would try out. Well, let's just say they didn't turn out. I have no idea what went wrong. I'm going to have to call her and see what I did wrong. But, what I learned is that you can't go wrong with Pillsbury...it works every time! We had fun decorating them together though! Oh yeah, I caught Carson digging into the butter. What is kids' fascination with butter!?

Thanks grandpa and mema Asay

Carson and Travis got a package in the mail today from grandpa and grandma Asay. Carson loved pulling out each piece. As he pulled out the candy, he would say..."OOO, this is my favorite!" He's now set on candy...I don't think we will need to go Trick-or-treating now! Thanks so much you really made their day!

Tents and raking leaves

Monday afternoon, Christian and Carson decided to rake the leaves in our front yard. They had them all raked into piles and started to put them into bags when they decided that the bags we had were too small and it would take them forever to put all the leaves into the bags so they stopped until I could get some more bags. Well, since then, we have had some ucky weather and we still have 4 piles of leaves in our yard. Maybe today we can get them picked up. Here are some pictures of their hard work.

That night Christian and Carson worked on building a "castle", as Carson called it, in the living room. I have to say it was a pretty cool fort and they had a great time building and playing in it.

Weekend with Auntie Butts...

...As she is known to Carson (Christian gave her the name)! My sister came to spend her Fall break with us this weekend and we had so much fun while she was here. She's going to school in Logan so when we go home, she's not there for us to see any more...sad day. We went out to eat, went ot he pumpkin patch, and just had fun being together. She had to fly home Sunday and Carson was one sad little boy. His Auntie Butts spoiled the heck out of him while she was here. Thanks for coming and spending you days off with us, Megan. We had lots of fun while you were here!

It has Arrived!

The company that Christian works for mainly does crop consulting. Their summers consist of making weekly checks on contracted fields for farmers. When the summer is over, Christian fills his time with soil sampling. This consists of riding a 4-wheeler out into a field sticking a probe into the ground up to 20 inches, and then sending the soil into one of their labs for analysis. As you can imagine, their 4-wheelers get pretty well used between the summer months and the spring/fall. Well, late this summer we had gotten around 8 inches of rain during the weekend and when Christian went to work on that Monday he rolled his 4-wheeler due to a big wash out in one of the roads. He managed to bruise a couple of ribs and was sore for quite a while, but luckily he didn't break anything. He did, however, manage to total his 4-wheeler and has been anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new one (he had been using an old...not very good intern one in the mean time). Well, he finally got to go and pick up his new one yesturday and spent most of the afternoon today "pimping" it out...crop consultant style! He had to add a cigarette lighter for GPS, a basket to carry the soil samples, probe holder, mirrors, and bucket holders (sorry...I don't quite know the correct terminology for all these things) to his machine so that he can jump right into sampling the rest of this week!
