He did it!

Anyone who knows Carson or has read my blog for long enough, knows how much Carson likes to pretend. He loves to get dressed up in his pirate clothes, his cowboy get-up, or his knight armor and pretend. A while back, we went and saw How to Train Your Dragon, which we all really liked...especially Carson. Shortly after we saw the movie, we were browsing the toy aisle at Wal-Mart and Carson discovered a viking costume from the movie complete with a viking helmet, sheild and ax/hatched thing and had to have it. We made a deal with him that if he would save his money (20 dollars worth) he could buy it. So, since before Easter, Carson has been doing odd jobs for mom and dad to make some money to buy his viking outfit. This week, he finally got enough money to buy the toy! As soon as he had enough, we ran to Wal-Mart to get his toy...and he's hardly put it down since!
All of his saved up money. He even had some to spare!

Carson's mean look!

Carson even managed to talk my sister into dressing up in some armour so they could attack Christian.

Fun Visit!

Last Thursday, my mom flew into McCook to spend the next couple of days with us. We were so excited to have her come and party with us. While she was here (Friday), we managed to even go on a date without any kids...it's been a while since we've gotten to do this! That night, my mom informed us that my sister was supposed to have flown in about 8:30, which was while we were on our date, and surprise us! But...the airlines had other ideas and she didn't end up flying in until 4:00 Saturday morning! I was so surprised and excited to have both my mom and my sister come visit...they were sure sneaky about it! The weather wasn't ideal while they were here so we spent a lot of time hanging out together inside. We baked, ate out, played games and just enjoyed being together! It was so much fun to have them here! Thanks for coming and hanging out with us, Grandma and Auntie Butts!

Baking bread

Surprise!!! Auntie Butts is here! Carson was a little confused as to how Butts made it into his bed during the night...!

Trying to ride the bike. I think she was feeling a littel left out and wanted to try!

Waiting to ambush Christian...

The ambush!

Today was so nice...we went to the park to play before they had to leave for home.

Sad Day...

Today was a sad day for my flowers. At about 4:00 the boys and I went out and looked at the flowers like we do several times a day (my boys are obsessed with them...they love to see if any new flowers are up). They looked so happy...

About an hour later, we were outside fertilzing the lawn and this is what I found...

Gone...every last one of them!! :(

Some little neighborhood turd that had been hanging around our yard decided he would break off all my tulips and stash them at the neighbors house! We asked him flat out if he did it and he said no (no surprise there). Well, while I was walking along the fence picking up the purple flowers he uprooted so I could replant them, he wispered to another little kid that he cut all the flowers and I heard him! So, we confronted him again...he confessed and we had a little talking to! Man I was mad! But, to look on the bright side, I got myself a nice bouquet!

On a different note, our family home evening this week consisted of making sure all the sprinklers were working...Christian did the adjusting, and the boys made sure the testing out!

Cute boys!

My tulips finally bloomed and I thought it would be the perfect chance to snap some photos of my boys. They weren't really in the cooperating mood...it took me forever to get them to both look at me and smile all at the same time!

Easter Happenings!

We have had a busy couple of days with Easter and family here visiting. Thursday, we decided to color eggs. I had boiled 18 of them and it took us all of 3 minutes to dye them! But the boys enjoyed it.

Friday, Matthew and Charlene and Daniel and Kasi (two of Christian's brothers) came to spend Easter weekend with us! We were so excited to have them here. This is the third year in a row that they have come to spend the holiday with us. We're sad to think that this might be the last year that they get to come because they are both moving away for school! Friday, we sat around most of the day talking and enjoying eachother's company and staying up way too late!

Saturday, we had breakfast, the boys ran to get some manure for our garden, cut down trees and played outside, bbqed, attempted to go bowling (it was closed) but instead went and looked at the baby chicks, and while the boys were at the Priesthood session of Conference, us girls went out to eat. Today, we ate, watched Conference and then had to say good bye. We loved having family here and are so glad that they chose us to spend their Easter with! Thanks for a fun weekend, guys!

I just had to include this picture. I looked out the sliding door the other day and found Travis AND Opie in the dog bed hanging out. I thought it was too cute! They are pretty good friends even though Travis is quite the bully...he loves to pull Opie's tail, ears, hair...you name it!
