Vegas, baby!

Last week, Christian was invited to attend some meetings for work in Vegas and the company that invited him, invited me to go along too...I just had to pay for a plane ticket there (an alomost free week in Vegas sounded like a good idea to us)! My mom was kind enough to come and stay with the boys so we could go and enjoy a few days by ourselves. This was the first trip we had take, just the two of us since our honeymoon!! We left Tuesday morning and drove to Denver where we caught a plane to Vegas. Once we were in Vegas, we enjoyed a welcome dinner and then walked down part of the Strip. Wednesday, Christian had meetings until 1, so I had the morning to take my time getting ready and checking out the hotel. We stayed at the Flamingo, on the Strip, which was definately not the grandest of the hotels on the Strip, but it was nice. Wednesday after Christian got done with his meetings, we took a cab to an outlet mall and did a little shopping. After our shopping trip, we came back and got ready to go to BlueMan Group. It was a great show...very entertaining. We were on the third row, which included ponchos! We were a little scared about getting wet/dirty, but we left the show dry! After the show, we walked down the opposite side of the Strip and watched the fountain show at the Bellagio, and finished the night with dinner at our hotel. Thursday, after Christian was done with meetings, we walked the Strip some more, and that evening went and saw the show KA, which was pretty amazing to watch. After KA, we ate at Outback and made our way back to the hotel. Friday, we left our hotel bright and early (5:45), but in style (in a limo), to head to the airport to catch our flight home. It was a great couple of days with my hubby! We are so thankful to my mom for coming to watch our boys so we could go! This trip got us even more excited to go to Hawaii here pretty soon!!

We had to check out the flamingos and take some pictures so the boys could see them!

The representative that Christian works with from the company that brought him to Vegas, bought us tickets to the BlueMan Group along with transportation to the show in a limo! We felt pretty cool!! :)

All ready for the BlueMan show to start with our lovely ponchoes on!

Christmas Day and more!

Man, I am truely behind and really need to finish blogging about Christmas so we can move on to more exciting things! Christmas day was great. We all got spoiled!! We opened gifts with my family first and then enjoyed waffles with strawberries and whip cream for breakfast. When breakfast was finished, we got ready and headed over to Lovell for more gifts and lunch. After lunch and some visit time, we made our way back to Powell for dinner with all my family. Talk about a crazy/long/full day, and we want to say thanks to all our family for providing us with such a great Christmas!! We loved seeing everyone!!

Christmas Day Family pictures! I love when the trees are all frosty...makes me happy! The second picture is down the road to Christian's family's house.

After all the holiday happenings, we were able to relax a little. We enjoyed a day at the rec. center in Cody swimming,
Christian and I got to go snowmobiling with my sister and brother while grandma Foulger watched the kids. It had been 5+ years since I had gone, so it was fun to go again. We snowmobiled, ate some lunch at the High country lodge and then snomobiled some more!
Jason's crash...it took 3 of them to get it out!

And we also enjoyed our family! My boys hanging out with Matthew and Charlene!

Also while we were home, it was Christian's birthday, so we enjoyed a dinner and movie date to Topollo's in Powell and then on to see True Grit in Cody. We also saw Tangled, and we celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary! It was a fun-filled trip home and are so glad that we got to spend as long as we did there and enjoy all of our family!

Christmas Eve in Wyoming

Once again, our Christmas Eve was a busy one, visiting both sides! We started with lunch with Christian's family where we enjoyed in the making and eating of gnocchies (a super yummy potatoe dumpling topped with a tomoato sauce)...a tradition we always look forward to.

We enjoyed some yummy finger foods for dinner. After dinner, we watched The Grinch, opened our Christmas Eve pj's, listened as Grandpa read the Christmas story from the Bible, then headed to bed.

Christmas in Nebraska!

Our Christmas celebrations started early again this year! Santa came to our house Monday night, December 20, making the 21st, Christmas day for us! Christmas was SO fun this year! Carson and Travis were both so excited and it made it actually feel like Christmas, where in the past, it hasn't really felt that way when we have celebrated it early. (We have Christmas early so that we don't have to haul everything to Wyoming and back again!).

For our Christmas Eve festivities, we drove around town and looked at all the Christmas lights. After the boys were tired of looking at lights, we went home and ate little smokies, meat and cheese crackers, veggies and dip and some nachoes...and our ever favorite drink, sparkling cider! After dinner, we opend the traditional Christmas Eve pajamas, read the Christmas story, put out our stockings, wrote santa a letter and left him and the reindeer some goodies, and scattered some reindeer food (oats with green sprinkles) out on the lawn. The boys went down for bed about 10 and by 10:30 Carson was up asking if Santa had already come! After a discussion about how Santa can't come until we fall asleep, Carson fell asleep and didn't wake up again until 6:00. I made him wait it out in his bed until Travis woke up which was 6:50 (early for us)!

The boys had so much fun opening their gifts and playing with all their new toys! We left Wednesday (Dec. 23) late afternoon and drove as far as Casper where we stayed the night and enjoyed some swimming. Thursday morning, early, we got up and headed the rest of the way to see our family where we enjoyed a 10 day visit with them (pictures to come)!
