This Week with the Asay's

Here is what we were up to this last week! After loosing our beloved Tutter the Fish the 2nd back before Thanksgiving, we finally got a new fish after a trip to North Platte this week. So, meet Tutter the fish the 3rd (yes...our fish have all had the same name!). Travis LOVES the fish, as you can tell! He loves to sit on the couch to watch it!

We experienced a first this week...we "horse sat" for a family in our Branch while they were out of town. Carson was in HEAVEN!

I wanted to include this picture because I thought it was cute. Carson is going through a stage where he wants to sleep with a stuffed animal (or something comfortable...as he says)...or two or three! This is how I found him the other day while he was taking his nap! Carson and all his friends! The cutest part, is that when we (me and Travis) put him down for a nap, Travis automatically goes to Carson's room and gets him the dog and panda bear...what brotherly love!

We are so excited for this week to come! My mom is coming this week to stay for a week. Christian and I are taking advantage of having her here and taking a trip away for the weekend by ourselves before he starts getting super busy again! It will be the first time since Carson was 1 that we went away, just the two of us! We are meeting up with Matthew and Charlene in Denver for a weekend of fun! We are all very excited! Hope you all have a great week and have a Happy Valentine's Day!!

Adventures with Sardines!!

Carson watched Sunny with a Chance of Meatballs recently and discovered sardines while watching the movie. He asked Christian if he liked them and Christian told him he did and that he would have me buy some for family home evening so Carson could try them. Carson was so excited! Well, Carson remembered this and would not let me forget to buy sardines while we were grocery shopping this last week. We went to Wal-Mart and found the sardines. I have NEVER seen a little kid so excited about sardines! He showed them to everyone we saw in Wal-Mart and was telling the cashier how excited he was and that they were the best prize ever!! As soon as we got home, he wanted to eat them, but Christian told him we had to wait for FHE. Well, he tried really hard to wait, but after his nap, he couldn't stand it any more and they decided to dig in! Carson took one bite and we could tell he was not impressed! I'm sure he was thinking to himself..."What's so great about these...they are disgusting", but he tried so hard to like them because he knew his dad liked them! All in all, Carson found out that he really doesn't like sardines...even though he asked the next day if we had some more (he really wants to like them because his dad does!)!

One of my favorite things to do with my boys is turn up the music and "jam out"! They love to dance to the music. Carson has been doing this little break dance thing for quite a while now and the other day while we were dancing, I noticed Travis trying to do it too...too cute! They are so funny!

A new talent!

Travis has discovered a new fun thing to do...pick his nose! He recently discovered that he can do this lovely thing! The first time I caught him, he was standing in the hallway with his finger shoved up his nose...almost to the knuckle! He stood there for the longest time with his finger in his nose like he didn't know what to do...funny little guy! This picture would sure make Travy's uncle Daniel proud...he's the one that taught Carson how to pick his nose while we were on vacation!

And just because I think he's cute...Carson!

Special Delivery!

This last week, my mom came to visit us. She came to deliver some Christmas gifts that we had gotten that we weren't able to fit in our car. It was fun to have her here with us for the week. We didn't do too much while she was here, but we did manage to have some fun!

Ever since we got back from Christmas, Carson has been asking to go bowling. So, for family home evening Monday night, we went bowling. Grama beat us all...badly! But don't worry, we'll be practicing up on the wii so we can beat her next time!

We also went out to eat, played wii,

Carson's sweet bowling skills! Check out that form!!

And just hung out around the house.

It was fun to have my mom here. I love having family around and wish they lived closer. We look forward to seeing you in February, grandma "olger" (as Carson says)!

Random Vacation Fun!!

I thought I should finish up the rest of our trip home. While we were staying with Christian's family, we played games...a very wicked game of spoons, we celebrated Jared's 18th birthday...

the boys ate lots of popsicles...

grandkids got lots of loves...

and we just had fun!

The fun didn't stop there, though. At the Foulger's, Carson and my brother went duck hunting (in the living room)... we played games (I haven't laughed that hard in a long time)...
We celebrated a New Year. New Year's Day was a full one. We started the day by getting up and my sister, mom and I making olliebolin, a dutch fried donut hole rolled in sugar. It's a tradition from my grandma Savage. New Year's Day...a.k.a Christian's birthday, my family usually heads up the Big Horns for a day of snowmobiling. This year was no different.

After snowmobiling, we had a party with Christian's family to celebrat his birthday. It was fun for everyone to be together!

The 2nd of January we celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary...and we celebrated it on the road home...not very exciting!! Christian surprised me, however, with a white and black diamond ring! I was so totally surprised and love it (I can't wait for it to come back from being sized so I can wear it)! I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful husband and dad for my boys!

It was so much fun to be home and be able to spend the holidays with our families. We can't wait for the next time that we get to go home and see everyone again!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day for us is always FULL! We visit both sides of the family and have to eat at both places too! So when I say full, I mean full of events and we are very FULL! We started out Christmas morning in Lovell. The boys got some really fun things...Carson got a remote controll car that Christian and I both like to play with, some books, and some ninja gear. Travis got a stick horse (now he can play knights with Carson) and some books also. I realized when I was going through my pictures that I didn't have any pictures of them opening gifts...I'm not sure what was going on! After gift opening, we got ourselves ready and lunch ready also. We enjoyed goose, wild rice stuffing, ham, spinach salad, and much more! It was delicious! After lunch, we loaded the boys us and headed to Powell for round 2 of Christmas. We sat around talking until my brother and his family showed up and then opened gifts from my family! Once again, the boys, and us, were spoiled! After gift opening, we sat down to yet another meal! We had ham, potatoes, salad, rolls and more! After dinner and some visiting, we headed back to Lovell and met up with Christian's family at his Grandma Dorothy's house. We had missed out on most of the festivities, but were able to catch the tail end of the party. All in all, is was a wonderful Christmas. We are truely blessed to have such great families and to be able to spend time with both of them!!

Foulger Family Christmas...

Handing out gifts

Carson and his cousin Campbell sharing his banana chair. The 3 older grandkids each got their own...so fun!

Carson and his guns. He was very sad that the Elves didn't make them and bring them to our house for Christmas. But, lucky for Carson, Santa was still listening!

Power tools! I feel some projects coming on!!

All wrapped up in bubble wrap! He thought it was great fun!!

Christian made our niece Isabelle laugh for the first time on Christmas Day. It was too cute!

The whole family ready for dinner!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve day, we spent with both of our families. We were staying in Lovell at the time, so we ran to Powell to have lunch with my family at the store...the China buffet was catering to all the employees and their families...yum! After lunch, we went to my mom's house to finish wrapping some last minute gifts and to just hang out. That night, we helped in the tradition of making gnoccies with Christian's family. They are a potatoe dumpling that we roll out by hand. They take quite a while to prepare, but are so worth the time! Jan serves them with a spaghetti sauce, salad and french bread. They are oh so yummy and we look forward to them every year! After dinner with all the family (including all of Christian's grandparents), we read the Christmas story and then opened pj's. Carson was SO excited that Santa was coming again and could barely wait for the morning! Good thing he didn't have much of a nap that day so he would sleep through the night!

Megan and I dorking off in the big jacket

Jan rolling out the dough or as the kids like to refer to it...making snakes..

Rolling the dumplings off the fork so they can be boiled. I'm not sure what was so funny, but something was!

The end result...gnoccies!

Cheers to a good meal!

Digging in!

Christmas jammies.
