Our past week!

Our Fourth of July this year was pretty relaxed. Since it was on a Sunday, we decided to just have some friends over for a bbq. After some yummy food, the kids did some smoke bombs, snakes and snaps for fun! What's sad, is we didn't even stay up late enough to watch the city firework display...lame, I know!! But, it was fun to spend time with friends!!

Enjoying some snaps!

Lighting snakes. Travis still talks about the "nakes"!

Christian being a bad example and holding a smoke bomb in his hand!

Travis and his friend riding on the "wheeler" as he calls it!

Happy Fourth of July!!

As for the rest of the week, we had playgroup out our house this year for our 3rd annual pool party! We filled the pool, put the slide in it, popped waterballoons, and ran through the sprinkler, and ate pizza. Even though it wasn't overly warm outside, the kids still played in the water! Carson and Travis were so excited to have friends come and party at our house!

Today, the boys and I went on a picnic with some friends. We took all the left over crusts from our pizzas that we made yesterday and feed the geese that live at the park.

Yikes that's a lot of geese!!

Dry Head and 10 Year Reuntion

*Warning: Picture overload ahead! (I realized after I had started that I should have made this into two posts! Oh well!!)
One of the last days we were in Wyoming, we had the opportunity to help Christian's family take their cows into Dry Head (Montana) for summer pasture. This is an event that everyone looks forward to each year and it was a beautiful day to do it! Carson rode by himself for the first time(well... he sat on the horse while Grandpa or Jared lead the horse)the entire day...what a cowboy!! He loved every minute of it! He even learned how to get off the horse by himself...he was pretty proud of himself!! Travis, Jan, Stetson and I rode in the cars and helped make lunch for the crew. It's things like this that make us really sad that we don't get to live closer to family and do this every year!

Later that same night, Christian flew into Cody so he could attend his 10 year class reunion that weekend. Friday morning, bright and early, we had Asay family pictures. We aren't sure when all of Christian's famiy will be together again due to siblings moving for school and a brother preparing to go on a mision, so this was the perfect opportunity to take pictures! It was pretty hot, but I'm excited to see how the pictures turn out!! Friday night we attended the class of 2000 family picnic. It was fun for Christian to see and visit with some of his classmates that he hadn't seen for quite some time.

Saturday we attended the Lovell's Day Parade. Christian rode on his class float and, once again, enjoyed reminiscing and throwing snowballs (someone went to the mountain and got a truck full of snow and kept it in coolers to use as ammunition)at people in the crowd. We also enjoyed watching grandpa Asay on his class float, along with Jacob on the Stake float. The boys got tons of candy and some yummy otter pops and ice cream sandwiches...have to love those!!

After the parade, we had lunch at Michael and Emily's house. It was a yummy bbq! After lunch there, we ran to Grandma Dorothy's house and then out to the lake. My parents were nice enough to let us steal their boat and take Christian's family out to the lake for some waterskiing. It wasn't overly nice water, but it was fun to be together with everyone!

Sunday, we made the long trip all the way home! The boys did really good, so it made the trip go quite fast! We had so much fun visiting home! We love spending time with all our family and wish we lived closer! We are excited for the summer to get done so we can all make a trip back home together. Thanks again to both families for letting us stay with you...we love you all!
