Right after we moved to Wyoming, I was able to attend my sister-in-law, Charlene's, baby shower. It was super fun to be with my SIL's and mother-in-law for the evening! This same weekend, Christian's brother and his wife announced they were expecting, making the total number of new grandbabies in the Asay house 3! How fun! The night of Charlene's shower, all four of us girls got together to have some pictures taken. The person that was taking the picture was joking that I should watch out because I was surround by pregnant women and it might be contagious. I laughed and said, "yeah, right. We are currently in transition right now (meaning Christian had just started his new job and such)." Little did anybody know that I already knew that we were going to be expecting baby #3! So...I guess it was contagious!!
We found out like a week after Christian had accepted the new job, that I was expecting, and it was kind of interesting how it worked out. After we got back from Hawaii, I thought I might be pregnant. We were still trying to decide if we were going to take the job in Wyoming or not at that time too. We decided that if I was pregnant, we weren't going to take the job right away (at that point, the company wasn't offering us any insurance). I took the test and it came back negative. So, we accepted the job, got our house on the market and proceeded with getting our selves packed to move. About a week later, Travis got sick and I got up with him a few times during the night. Each time I got up with him, I felt nautious...and the first thing that came to my mind was "oh man...this can't be!" I took another pregnancy test and, sure enough, it came back positive!
We were are super excited about our new addition. We told the boys the other night after I had had an ultrasound and Carson's reaction was the best. He said "I have been waiting for a long time for you to have a baby!" They both want a sister, but with our odds, I'm not so sure that is possible! I had an ultrasound last Friday to try and get a date. Thhe baby looks good and it was so fun to see it and hear the heartbeat. My due date is some time the middle of October. I'm slowly starting to feel not so sick...yay!
As I looked back at how the whole thing transpired, I couldn't help but think about how the Lord works in mysterious ways. I believe with all my heart that we were supposed to come to Wyoming, and having a baby wasn't supposed to stop us from doing that. I think that it was an answer to prayers that we had offered, in wanting to make the right choice for our family and know if we should move or not. I'm so grateful for the power of prayer and to know that my Heavenly Father hears and answers them!
