Weekend Adventures

We had a very enjoyable weekend. Saturday evening, we decided to drive up to Devil's Canyon overlook. We point it out all the time to the boys when we are out on the lake, so we thought it would be fun for them to have a little different perspective of it. They had fun walking around reading all the signs about the animals around and looking over the edge.

Checking it out. What a beautiful place we live in!

On the way back we saw two groups of wild horses.

Sunday, we celebrated Father's Day by visiting each of our dads. We had lunch with my family and grandparents and then ran back to Lovell for dinner with Christian's family. It was a great day. We are so grateful for the wonderful dad's and grandpa's we have in our lives! We are truly blessed!!

Party!

Last Friday, we celebrated great grandma Asay's 96th birthday (her birthday was on the 13th) with all of Christian's family and his dad's sister and husband and one of their children and family. It was a fun evening in the park with family eating, playing and being together.

Finally...

...we made it to the lake, and it was a nice day! We went with my mom and dad last Wednesday and it was beautiful. We took a nice drive up to Barry's Landing in the boat, while we ate some fried chicken(can't boat with out it!) and watermelon. The boys each took several turns on the tube, and had to show off a bit. Once we got to Barry's Landing, we got out and played at the dock for a bit. Landon had a great time sitting in the water splashing! After playing for a bit, we headed back home and saw around 8 Big Horn Sheep. It was a fun afternoon and are waiting until we can go out again!
Munching on some fried chicken. My boys are convinced you can't be on the boat without fried chicken from grandpa's store!

At first when we would put Landon in the water, he would stick his big toes straight up ...it was too funny!

Garden

We FINALLY got our wee little garden planted this last Tuesday. Because we were so late planting it, the greenhouses around had been pretty well picked through and there weren't many options left. We were able to get our hands on two different types of tomato plants, some banana pepper plants and another sweet pepper plant. We are still trying to find some bell peppers, jalapeno and cucumber plants to add to the garden. We really missed not having one last summer so we are excited to have one this year
Christian brought home a bag full of fertilizer from work, so first we had to mix it up.

Prepping.

Carson got the weeds out of our spot as Christian and Travis turned the soil over.

Carson found a dirt claud that looked like a heart.

Planing the tomatoes.

Our finished product. Hopefully we can bet a  few more things in there.

Swimming lessons

The boys have completed another successful year of swimming lessons. This was Travis' first year and he loved every minute of it! I think he was super excited to be able to get to do something that his big brother got to do too. Travis was in the toddler class and Carson was in level 2. They both passed their classes...yay! It was really neat to see how much Carson improved over the two week classes. His back floating and back stroke were what I saw the most improvement in. Although they are sad to be done, I am not sad that I don't have to sit up in the sauna any more!! I swear I haven't sweat that much in a long time...gross!
Ready for lessons.

Branding

Monday night for family home evening, we (well...mostly Christian)went out to help Christian's family brand some calves. They had to do around 50, so it only took a couple of hours. The boys had lots of fun "helping" out.
