County Fair time!

The last week of July is always the Park County Fair that is held in my home town of Powell. It's always a fun time where you get to see friends you don't see around very much (I got to have lunch with two of my best friends from high school and their kids while they were in town for the fair). Wednesday night we took the boys over to Powell to enjoy the fair experience. We had taken them to a couple of county fairs while we lived in Nebraska, but none of them really compared to the one here that we grew up going to. We started the night looking at all the 4-H animals. The boys loved the sheep the best, but enjoyed all the rabbits, cows, goats and birds as well! After looking at the animals, we ate some good ole' fair food...my favorite part. The boys each had a slice of Pizza on the Run pizza and Christian and I shared a Navajo taco and some fresh squeezed lemonade. After dinner, we bought way too many tickets, and took the boys to ride the rides. We didn't realize that most of the ones they could ride only took 1 ticket and we had 30 to use! Chrsitian finally decided after about an hour that he would go with the boys to do the rides just so we could use our tickets up faster! Travis and Carson both loved the motorcycles and Carson's other favorite ride was the bumper cars with his dad. After we finally used all our tickets, we went back and let the boys each pick out a treat to end the night with. They both picked green snow cones (they didn't even care what the flavore was, just as long as it was green), and of course we all had to share a funnel cake...YUM. The only sad part about going to the fair is that it's a sign that summer is coming to an end, which make us all sad!

Friday, we had the opportunity to drive to Cody and pick up my sister who was flying into the airport with her finace (yep...that's right...Megan got engage this weekend) and her two best friends from college! We had a master plan to attend the Cody Nite Rodeo after we picked them up up because they were late getting in and there was only a handful of bullriding and a bunch of barrel racing left, so we opted not to go to the rodeo and have ice cream instead. Saturday we partied out on the lake with most of my family and our friend Daniel. We finally got a new prop for our boat and now it runs like a champ! We spent ALL day at the lake and managed to get ourselved pretty tired and sunburned, but it was a blast to be out there with everyone! Sunday, we had a bbq at my mom's house before my sister and her little group had to fly home. My soon to be brother in law is a pilot and flew them out here so they wanted to get home before the storms hit, so we didn't get to hang out as much as we would have liked. It was so fun to have my sister and her friends here. We are so excited to have Jabin join our family...congrats to you guys!!
